JPE is the graphic format of the raster image category. It was developed by the standards committee of the Joint Photographic Experts Group. It is a 24-bit compressed graphics format. JPT is a file extension belonging to the JPEG 2000 bitmap file category (versions .jp2, .j2k, .jpt and others) and the JPEG 2000 file format. JPEG 2000 format is defined as a system for encoding and transmitting graphic raster files. It was developed by the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG). It is approved by a series of ISO / ITU standards. The JPEG 2000 standard, which was designed from the very beginning to replace traditional JPEG, applies wavelet compression with and without loss. It gives an increased compression ratio and surpasses JPEG by all standards. The standard method for designating JPEG 2000 files is the .jp2 extension.
